Video Audition Upload Guidelines

Video Audition Upload Guidelines
  • You will need to upload your video to YouTube first before uploading to your student account. Please follow the rules and guidelines below to create your audition video correctly to avoid being disqualified.
  • Make sure your recording includes all required audition excerpts in the order indicated. You can upload only ONE video.
  • Although the audition must be uploaded as one video, the excerpts may be recorded separately on the same day and in the same room (show the date on the video. We recommend the app "timestamp camera" which is free) and pasted together into one continuous video segment in the order listed. For pianists, the chamber music excerpt might be recorded in a different room and day.
  • All pieces must be played without accompaniment.
  • The video must contain NO verbal or text identifiers.
  • Video formats may be .mp4 or .mov.  Click here for other Supported YouTube file formats.
  • You may upload your video to YouTube from a Computer, Android, iPhone or iPad.
  • To upload your video to YouTube, follow these instructions: Upload YouTube videos from a Computer, ...from an Android, or ...from an iPhone or iPad.
  • The maximum file size you can upload is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. Although this is more than you should need, if your video is longer than 15 minutes, you will need to verify your account: Upload videos longer than 15 minutes from a Computer, ...from an Android or ...from an iPhone or iPad.
  • Keep a copy of your video file.
  • Please be sure to set your video's privacy settings to "unlisted." Do NOT set your video to "private."
  • After you have uploaded your video to YouTube, copy the URL in the address bar and paste it into the "YouTube Link" box on the "Upload video audition" page in your account and click Save. Do NOT use the copy feature in the YouTube Share dialog box.
  • Be sure your video audition meets all requirements and you are happy with your audition before you upload. If you find that you must replace your video with a different one, you will need to email a request to summerfestival@festivalhill.org or click "Submit request to delete video audition" below "View my video" to have the first link deleted. You will receive an email to confirm your request. No delete requests can be processed after the application deadline.
