Violinst Sungyoung Choi has won numerous competitions and awards including the New York International Young Musician Competition, National Artist Competition, Seoul Orchestra Competition.

She is dedicated to performing both as a solo player as an ensemble player. She performed New York Korea Music Festival in 2022, Gate Chamber Ensemble, MET Opera Project at Brooklyn Museum and Alice Tully Hall at Licoln Center as an orchestra player. Also she played at German Consulate General NewYork and Union Club as an solo player as well.
Before she moved to US, she served a principal of 1st Violin at Sookmyung Symphony Orchestra. Seoul Arts Center was her primal location where she performed. In addition to Seoul Art Center, when she performed as a solo violinist with orchestra at Sejong Arts Center.

She earned her bachelor’s degree at Sookmyung Women’s University and Master’s Degree at Mannes School of Music with the President’s Merit Scholarship. She is currently studying her Professional Studies Degree with School of Performing Arts Scholarship at the Mannes. She is studying under Michelle Kim, the assistant concertmaster at NewYork Philharmonic.
