Beck Rusley is a bassoonist and contrabassoonist from the Twin Cities area. He is a current substitute player with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra, and will be a substitute for the New World Symphony’s 2023–24 season. In 2022 he was a finalist for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Contrabassoon/Utility Bassoon position. As a soloist, he was alternate winner of the Vanderbilt University Concerto Competition, and finalist in Brevard Music Center’s Jan and Beattie Wood Concerto Competition. Currently, he studies with Dr. Peter Kolkay at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, having previously studied with Norbert Nielubowski.
