Ethan Wood, 21, is a junior at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studies trumpet performance under Joey Tartell and baroque trumpet under Dr. Kris Kwapis. Ethan’s love for the instrument came from early years of listening to performers such as Sergei Nakariakov, Alison Balsom and Wynton Marsalis. While at IU, Ethan has had the opportunity to perform as principal of the Chamber and University Orchestra, Soprano Cornet of the IU Brass Band, Lead Trumpet of the John Raymond jazz ensemble and trumpet with the Mariachi Perla del Medio Oeste. Ethan has also had the fortune of performing with Ballet Indiana and being a regular substitute with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
