Lucy Song is a versatile flutist, piccoloist, and educator who is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of North Texas under the mentorship of Terri Sundberg. She also enjoys serving as a Teaching Fellow at UNT as an instructor for applied flute, chamber ensembles, and flute choir.
An avid orchestral and chamber musician, Lucy’s professional appearances include performances with the Milwaukee Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, and the Florentine Opera. She has participated in festivals such as the National Arts Center Young Artists Program, Orford Academy, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Her solo accomplishments include third prize in the National Flute Association Orchestral Excerpts Competition, semifinalist in the National Flute Association Piccolo Artist Competition, and concerto performances with the North Texas Wind Symphony, Lowell Philharmonic, Seven Hills Symphony, and the Montreal Youth Symphony.
Lucy graduated with a Master of Music degree under the tutelage of John Thorne from Northwestern University, and received her Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University, where she studied with Carolyn Christie and Denis Bluteau.
