Brandon Morrison started playing the viola in 2014 and has had a passion for the instrument ever since. After moving to New Mexico in 2019, he started studying at the New Mexico School for the Arts with Allegra Askew, a member of the New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony, and the Santa Fe Opera. He now studies at SMU with Barbara Sudweeks, the former assistant principal violist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He is a sophomore at SMU pursuing a double major in viola performance and music composition, where he has performed with the Banff Quartet Competition winning Marmen Quartet, renowned violinist Aaron Boyd, and has been coached by the Viano Quartet and performed in masterclasses with Masumi Rostad and Kim Fredenburgh.
