Luis Tovar is a twenty-year-old, Mexican-American Cellist from Oklahoma City. Luis is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree studying under the tutelage of Rhonda Rider at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He was active in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras for four seasons under Jeffrey Grogan as well as the Oklahoma All-State Symphony Orchestra.

Luis has performed throughout the Oklahoma City Metro for private and city events, pre-concert lectures, and school outreach concerts. He has been accepted into and spent summers at Round Top Festival Institute, Boston University's Tanglewood Institute, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain, and the American Festival for the Arts in Houston.

Luis studied at Interlochen Arts Academy in 2019 and 2020 under Dr. Patrick Owen. He has had the privilege of studying with and performing in masterclasses for Natasha Brofsky, Dmitry Kouzov, Dover Quartet, Catalyst Quartet, Christine Lamprea, Emilio Colón, Louis-Marie Fardet, Adrien Zitoun, Tomasz Zieba, Jonah Kim, and Natalie Helm.
