Bay Area trombonist, Austin Talbot, is committed to performing music through a composer's vision while adding a taste of personal beauty and expressiveness. While originally from Houston, Texas, Austin has made appearances with the Sacramento Philharmonic and the Mill Valley Philharmonic. In addition, Austin has performed at Michael Mulcahy’s international trombone seminar at Northwestern University, and Gene Pokorny’s low brass seminar at Northern Illinois University. He has made the finals of the American Trombone Workshop Division II Solo Competition in 2022, and he also won the third prize in the Houston Brass Band Solo Competition in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Timothy Higgins.
