Elizabeth Chernyak is a fourth year undergraduate student at Bard College and Conservatory studying violin performance with Daniel Phillips and Luosha Fang and double majoring in biology. Elizabeth has participated in the Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra, Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra, Hartwick Chamber Orchestra, and Bard Conservatory Orchestra. Elizabeth attended the Kiwanis Music Festival in 2015 (where she won the Monetary Festival Strings Award and John Rutherford Award), the Eastern Music Festival in 2019 and 2021 (where she studied with Uli Speth, Julian Schwartz, and Avi Nagin), and the Roundtop Festival Institute in 2022. Elizabeth has performed as a soloist in the Oneonta Concert Association Youth Program in 2017 and with the Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2020. She has played in orchestras conducted by Gerard Schwartz, Leon Botstein, Thomas Wilkins and has performed in several masterclasses led by Richard Rood, Simin Ginatra of the Pacifica Quartet, Regis Pasquier, Mira Wang, and Jeffrey Multer. Elizabeth has taken lessons with Gil Shaham, Adele Anthony, and Erica Kiesewetter, and plays viola, under the instruction of Marka Gustavsson.
