Nikki Ponticelli is a collaborative and forward-thinking violist.
She was principal violist of the San Francisco State University Chamber Orchestra, and section violist of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony. Nikki attended Eastern Music Festival for 3 years where she participated in the String Leadership Program, as well as Wintergreen Music Festival, and the virtual Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival. She has collaborated with Bay Area composers to perform and record short film and video game scores.

Nikki is pursuing graduate studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University under the guidance of Choong-Jin Chang, principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, for her Masters of Music. She is a personnel manager intern for Peabody ensembles, substitute in Peabody's Conductor's Orchestra, and member of the Old Bay New Music Ensemble.
She received her Bachelors of Music from San Francisco State University, studying with David Samuel, and coached by the Alexander String Quartet in chamber music. Nikki was the Undergraduate Honoree for the School of Music. She has played in masterclass for Masumi per Rostad, Victoria Chiang, and Paul Wiancko. Her previous private teachers are Paul Yarbrough, Jaroslaw Lis, Daniel Reinker and Chauncey Patterson.
