I’ve studied at places such as the Young Artist Wind Ensemble with the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar, and Manhattan School of Music Virtual Percussion Summit. My ensemble experience in high school included marching and concert band, the Houston Symphonic Band, and the Houston Youth Symphony. During this time I began studying privately with Joseph Desotelle, while a graduate student at Rice University and with Brian Del Signore, Principal Percussionist of the Houston Symphony. My teachers were formerly Christopher Lamb and Kyle Zerna of the New York Philharmonic, Duncan Patton on timpani, and She-e Wu on marimba. Now I am at IU and my teachers are Joseph Gramley, Kevin Bobo, and John Tafoya. I have performed with the Symphonic Band and University Orchestra, as well as the Indiana University Percussion Ensemble. Various awards that I have received include Premier Young Artist Scholarship, 2021- present, All-State Band, Association of Texas Small School Bands, 2019, All-Region Band, Texas Music Educators Association, 2016, 2017, 2018, All-Region Orchestra, Principal Timpanist, Texas Music Educators Association, 2019.
