Julia Koehler is a violinist from Anchorage, Alaska, who is in her Junior year pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in violin performance at Indiana University, studying with Mimi Zweig. She received her High School Diploma from the Interlochen Arts Academy studying with Ara Sarkissian. Additionally she has studied with Austin Hartman and Ellen dePasquale, among others. While at IU, she has performed with multiple high level ensembles, including full productions of the Nutcracker and Highway 1 USA by William Grant Still. She has also been an active chamber musician and premiered works with the New Music Ensemble. Before attending IU, Julia attended the Idyllwild Arts Summer Festival every summer from 2014-2016, Interlochen Arts Camp in 2017, and the Aria International Music Academy in 2018. Currently she works part time at the Orchestral Division at the Jacobs School of Music Library and assists with the IU String Academy.
