Katie holds a BM degree in Viola Performance from UNCG and is currently enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing a MM degree in Viola Performance. While in her undergrad, Katie earned a minor in Arts Administration. Katie is a recipient of UNCG’s Minerva Music Scholarship. As a Minerva Scholar, Katie has developed her love of performing along side some of the most elite musicians in UNCG’s music department. She enjoys performing and gives annual solo recitals during her years at UNCG and continued studies at Carnegie Mellon. Other of Katie’s college career experiences include performing in chamber masterclasses with the Beo String Quartet, the Boromeo String Quartet, and the Juilliard String Quartet. In addition, she has performed along-side late world-renowned cellist, Lynn Harrel on a special night of chamber music. During her summers, Katie has been a part of several festivals and summer study programs such as Brevard Music Center, Eastern Music Center and NOI. She has also been an Emerging Artist Fellow at the Garth Newel Music Center. Her main teachers and mentors are Scott Rawls, Erika Eckert, Tatjana Chamis and David Harding.
