Miles Gillette, 20, is a sophomore from Fayetteville, Texas, studying Applied Music (Piano Performance) at Baylor University. His current teachers include Dr. Terry Lynn Hudson (applied piano), Dr. Kae Hosoda-Ayer (collaborative piano), and Dr. Isabelle Demers (applied organ). In addition, he is the accompanist for the Baylor Men's Choir under the direction of Dr. Randall Bradley, the accompanist for the semi-professional vocal group Voces Hominum, and the part-time staff pianist of First Presbyterian Church, La Grange, Texas. Miles won the Baylor Concerto Competition as a freshman with his performance of Moszkowski's Piano Concerto No. 2 in E Major, Op. 59. He has been awarded masterclasses with Abbey Simon (conducted by Nancy Weems), Bradley Bolen, and Sara Daneshpour. He is the winner of the University of Houston International Piano Festival and was named the TSSEC Outstanding Performer twice. Miles has performance experience in a wide variety of venues with works representing a variety of genres.
