Zach Harris, currently a junior Percussion Performance Major in The Florida State University College of Music, studying with Dr. John W. Parks IV, graduated from Owasso High School in Oklahoma under the tutelage of Steve Craft, Chris Barber, and Devin Garza.
Harris is currently part of the Florida State Wind Orchestra, University Opera, and has been a featured soloist with the international award-winning FSU Percussion Ensemble. He also plays regularly with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra as well as the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. He spent three summers as a member of the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute Festival Orchestra, where he studied with Dr. Parks as well as Lalo Davila, and was selected for the Oklahoma All-State Wind Symphony three times. In 2022 he was awarded the prestigious Theodore Presser Award at FSU. In 2019 Zach received the Oklahoma State Superintendent's Award for Arts Excellence, the John Phillips Sousa award from the Owasso High School Band and was a finalist for the 2019 Great Plains International Marimba Competition.
