Jinigyi studied the violin at age four and studied the viola at age of twelve. She has been apart of a number of professional symphony orchestras throughout North America and China, such as Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra, Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica Di Catania's Opera, and Shandong Song and Dance Theater. She has also performed with The Juilliard School Joint Concert when she was an undergrad. She holds Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin under Prof. Roger Myers’ studio and now she is working on her Artist Diploma with Prof. Myers. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, China under Prof. Yanming Xu. Before she went to Tianjin she studied the violin and viola with Prof. Wen Chen. During her student career Jingyi has studied with many world-renowned musicians including Michelle LaCourse, Daniel Getz, Jeffrey Irvine, Korey Konkol, Juilliard String Quartet, Miró Quartet, among others. She participated in the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival and the International Music Academy of Frostburg State University. She got the 1st Prize in the Hong Kong International String Open Competition Tianjin Division, 2016.
