Aria Posner is a sophomore at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Dr. Melissa Kraut. Former teachers include Martha Gerschefski, Pam Devenport, Alan Rafferty, and Daniel Laufer.
Aria is a member of the CIM orchestra and her cello quartet at CIM. She was a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for five years (2014-19), serving as principal for three seasons. She was also principal of the Emory Junior Chamber Orchestra (2012-15). Aria was a member of the Lykos Cello Quartet and the S4zando String Quartet in Franklin Pond's Fall into Spring Program. Recently, S4zando won the college division of the Franklin Pond Chamber Competition. In Spring 2019, the Lykos Cello Quartet placed 3rd in the Franklin Pond Chamber Competition.
Aria first soloed at age 10 with the MYSO chamber orchestra. In 2019, she won the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra concerto competition and performed the 1st mvt of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B Minor. Aria soloed with the Atlanta Community Orchestra as the 1st place winner of the Ruth Kern Concerto Competition in 2013, with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the SOA Competition, and with the EJCO at Lincoln Center in 2014.
