As a violinist, now I am a fourth-year student of Marilyn McDonald, with whom I studied modern and Baroque violin. Born in Taiwan and raised in Shanghai, I began violin studied at age 5 and graduated from the Elementary School and Middle School Affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where I studied with Binyou Zhou. An avid fan of early music and contemporary sounds. I have performed with the Oberlin Baroque Ensemble and I am studying Historical Performance as my minor. I have performed many student composers’ pieces in the composition department recital and students’ recitals. I played in the ensemble for the Oberlin Opera theater production of the Pulizer Prize-wining opera Angel’s Bone by Du Yuan. In 2019, I performed Britten’s Suite in Music from Oberlin at Oakton Eighteenth Anniversary Season recital. I was awarded the assistant principle couple times in Oberlin orchestra. With this orchestra, I performed Debussy’s La Mer and Ogonek’s All These Lighted Things in Carnegie Hall.
