Application and Auditions Guidelines
You should be born before December 31, 1994.
Accepted participants are expected to remain at Round Top for the full six-week period (June 3 – July 15, 2012) without absences. Your schedule should be planned accordingly. No leave of absence will be granted.

Preliminary Auditions
All applicants have the choice to audition in person or send a recorded audition.
1) In person auditions: Electronic Application must be submitted no later than 5 days prior to the audition date. Applicants should email or phone (as soon as possible!) the Program Director to schedule audition times and receive information about exact audition locations. Call 979-250-3815 between 10 AM and 5 PM Central Time. Auditions are recorded and do not exceed 15 minutes per applicant.
All auditions are submitted “blind” to the relevant faculty with the mention “live.”
Each instrument requires specific excerpts and solos (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone,
Bass Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, Harp, Piano.)
Accompaniment is optional for solos.
Although excerpts for English horn, E-flat clarinet, Bass Clarinet are not compulsory, they are highly recommended.

Bring a check of $65 payable (if not already paid online) to “The James Dick Foundation”
Two recommendations should be submitted later either by email (alaind@festivalhill.org) or snail mail (Alain Declert, P.O. Box 89, Round Top, TX 78954-0089), but must be received in Round Top by February 27, 2012.

2) Recorded Auditions: Submit an Electronic Application. Then, send your recorded audition (CD or flash drive only clearly labeled with name, instrument and list of contents or use YouSendIt)(No video!), which should be postmarked no later than Monday February 20, 2012 and mailed to Alain Declert P.O. Box 89 Round Top, TX 78954-0089.

Note: Due to the volume of applicants, we are not able to offer feedback on in person and recorded auditions.
Placement Auditions
on Monday June 4, 2012 starting at 10:00 am after the orientation meeting.
