Adeline Baban, 20, is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance at the Mannes School of Music in New York City. She is a student under Michelle Kim, the Assistant Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. In high school, she was a member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and McLean High School Philharmonic Orchestra, where she received the MHS Musicianship Award in 2017 and later performed as the soloist for their 2019 concert with the Detmold Youth Orchestra from Germany. In recent summers, she attended the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute and the Domaine Forget International Music Festival. She has had masterclasses with Regis Pasquier, Violaine Melancon and Jonathan Carney. As a member of the Mannes Orchestra, she has performed in at the Alice Tully and Metropolitan Opera House Halls of Lincoln Center in NYC. She also has had to privilege to play in the Kennedy Concert Hall and the Millennium Stage in Washington D.C., as well as in the Philippine and Argentine Embassy. Recently, Adeline joined the New York Youth Symphony for their 2020-2021 season. The Colburn Foundation has generously loaned Adeline a 1952 Becker violin.
