Evyn Levy is pursuing an undergraduate in clarinet performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she studies with clarinetist Richard Hawkins. Her former teachers in St. Louis include Scott Andrews and Jeanine York-Garesche. While at Oberlin, Evyn has performed regularly in the Oberlin Conservatory Orchestras including recent performances of the E-flat clarinet in Daphnis et Chloe Suite no.2 and numerous works with the Oberlin Opera program. As an advocate for chamber music and summer festivals, Evyn performed with the Ceres Trio, the 2019-2020 Young Ensemble-in-Residence for Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings, and attended Boston University Tanglewood and Eastern Music Festival. In high school, Evyn was a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2016-2018 and various All-State ensembles throughout her years in high school. She was accepted into the All-National Concert Band both in her junior and senior years. In the spring of 2018, she performed as a soloist with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra as the winner of the Aspiring Artist Concerto Competition, playing the first movement of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto no. 1.
