“I was struck by the mastery displayed by timpanist Jaewon Lee,” CVNC orchestral music review of UNCSA Symphony Orchestra concert in 2014 mentioned his name. Jaewon Lee is a percussionist who enjoys performing variety of groups of musicians, ranging from playing timpani in the back of the orchestra to multi-percussion in an ensemble for a new music. Currently, he is in New England Conservatory Symphony Orchestra where he finds joyful and he is also actively involved in his chamber group composed of two pianists and two percussionists. He is also an artistic solo percussionist. He was the winner of NC PAS high school solo percussion competition and performed as a soloist at the Day of Percussion in 2016. He also has played in a masterclass given by Frederic Macarez in 2015. Earlier his career, he was selected as a section percussionist of 2014 Virginia All State Band.
He is currently studying with Daniel Bauch at the New England Conservatory and he has studied with John R. Beck in UNCSA where he finished his high school diploma.
