I started my musical studies at age five with private lessons on the piano. Piano was my sole instrument until junior high, when I took up the violin and joined the school orchestra. My piano experience quickly translated to the violin, and within a year I had started private lessons and successfully auditioned into my local youth orchestra. My first violin teacher was Cheryl Trace, a member of the Toledo Symphony, with whom I studied until the start of my sophomore year of high school. From then until college, I studied with Vasile Beluska, Professor Emeritus of Violin at BGSU. I am now in my first year at Oberlin Conservatory as a violin performance major, where I study with Marilyn McDonald.

During high school, I participated in a number of programs, including OMEA Regional Orchestra, All-State Orchestra, and District Honors Orchestra, as well as NAfME All-National Symphony Orchestra. I attended Interlochen Arts Camp in the summer of 2017.

In August of 2016, I joined members of the Toledo Symphony in a performance of Bach’s Mass in B Minor. This past summer, I again joined the symphony players in a performance of the Mendelssohn Octet and Mendelssohn’s 2nd String Quintet.
