Brendan Fairleigh received his undergraduate from the University of Kansas where he studied under Drs. Lawrence Maxey, Stephanie Zelnick and Mr. Raymond Santos. During his time there, he was an avid chamber musician performing across the state of Kansas. His chamber group, The Indigo Trio, participated in multiple commissioning projects, expanding the repertoire for clarinet, flute and piano. In the spring of 2016, he was a part of the Lied Center Outreach Program which involved educating local schoolchildren about chamber music and making the genre more accessible to audiences of all ages. During the summer of 2016, he was a selected fellow at the Buffet Summer Clarinet Academy in Jacksonville, FL. In the spring of 2017, Brendan was a semifinalist in the Naftzger Competition and runner-up in the University of Kansas concerto competition.

Brendan currently studies under Mr. Paul Garner at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. A passionate teacher, Brendan maintains a large studio of clarinetists of all ages in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. In Fall 2019, Brendan will begin his masters degree with Prof. Jonathan Gunn at the University of Texas at Austin.
