Paul Hafley, 22, will receive his Bachelors Degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Memphis in May 2019.

An avid orchestral musician, Paul has performed under the baton of prominent conductors such as Alan Gilbert, James Gaffigan, Benjamin Zander, Case Scaglione, Hugh Wolff, David Loebel and Larry Rachleff and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Copley Symphony Hall and Sanders Theater. Paul is the current Principal Clarinetist of the Corinth Symphony Orchestra in Corinth, MS.

Paul has performed as a soloist with Sinfonietta Memphis, as well as the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. Paul was the winner of the University of Memphis Concerto Competition in 2018, a finalist in the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition in 2015 and was the winner of the San Diego Clarinet Society Competition in 2011.

Previous Festival appearances include Music Academy of the West (2016 Fellow) and Brevard Music Center (2015)

Paul has studied with acclaimed clarinetists and pedagogues such as Michael Wayne, Yehuda Gilad and Frank Renk.

Paul will begin his Masters Degree at The University of Texas at Austin in August, 2019.
