Rachel Domingue, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, currently studies with Dr. Andrew Parker at the University of Texas at Austin working towards her Master of Music degree. She completed her undergraduate degree in Music Performance at the University of Ottawa where she studied with Principal Oboe of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Charles Hamann. Rachel has been the recipient of numerous awards. Most recently, she was received the Award of Excellence of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada during the summer of 2018. In 2017, she was also awarded the Sturdevant Prize for Orchestral excerpts as well as the National Arts Centre Orchestra Vic Pomer Award. In 2015, Rachel received the Friends of NACO scholarship. In the summer of 2018, Rachel subbed with the National Art Centre Orchestra and was part of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Rachel has spent other summers attending the Orford Music Academy, ScotiaFest, and Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA). She has performed with the University of Texas at Austin’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and Opera production. She is also an active chamber musician in her home town and with her current Woodwind Quintet.
