Sophia Zorek is a classical percussionist from London, England. Sophia is currently a student of Richard Brown and Mathew Strauss at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University where she is working towards an undergraduate degree in music performance. Sophia was awarded the Matt McCartney and Anna Kern Prize for Percussion in 2015 and 2016, and the Denson Endowed Music Scholarship in Percussion in 2017.

Prior to joining the Shepherd School and throughout her high school years, Sophia attended junior conservatory at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied with Mr. Robert Farer and Mr. Alexander Duggan. Sophia was awarded the School's top prize for percussion performance in 2015.

Sophia was the principal percussionist for the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, performing regularly at the Barbican. She has performed in the Aberystwyth Music Festival in 2014. She has also participated in the Brevard Music Festival in the summer of 2017. In 2013 Sophia was awarded Most Promising Player in Southern Percussion's International Tuned Percussion Competition.
