Cleveland based violinist Sarah Harmsworth is a member of the Akron Symphony, having previously held positions as the Principal Second Violin of the Missoula Symphony, and Associate Concertmaster of the Helena Symphony. She has additionally served as concertmaster of the University of Montana Symphony Orchestra, and the festival orchestras of Brevard and Marrowstone.
As a soloist, Sarah has performed with the University of Montana Symphony, the Bozeman Symphony, the Great Falls Symphony, the Butte Symphony, and the Glacier Symphony.
She is a two time winner the MASO Young Artists Competition, and has also won the University of Montana concerto competition. As part of the Missoula Piano Trio, Sarah was twice a national finalist in the MTNA chamber music competition, winning 3rd prize in 2016. She has also been a national finalist in the MTNA solo string competition.
Sarah is currently pursuing a master's degree at CIM, where she is a student of William Preucil. Previous teachers include Milan Vitek at Oberlin, and Margaret Baldridge at the University of Montana.
