Jarred Kennedy is a violinist from Dallas, Texas. Currently, he is in the final year of his BM in Music Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Jarred has held top leadership positions and awards at SFA, around East Texas, and abroad. He is now Concertmaster of SFA Orchestra of the Pines and SFA Opera Orchestras, Principal 2nd Violin at the Longview Symphony Orchestra, and previous Guest Concertmaster at University of Macau in Macau, China. He is the recipient of the top orchestral scholarship available at his school, The Isador Saslov Scholarship. His primary teacher of violin is Dr. Jennifer Dalmas. He has also studied with Felix Olschofka, Martha Walvoord, Jonathan Magness, and Jessica Dan. He has also performed masterclasses for Ching-Yi Lin, John Ma, Chloe Trevor. Outside of performance, he teaches extensively with instruction under Dr. Gene Moon and Dr. Evgani Raychev. He is a student assistant/conductor for the Piney Woods Youth Orchestra and is a frequent sectional coach for violins in The East Texas Youth Orchestra. Other than music, Jarred continues to push his character as a 2nd degree Black Belt instructor in Karate/Tae Kwon Do in the Dallas area.
