Ryan Stockhausen is finishing his senior year at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he studies with John Bruce Yeh, the Assistant Principal and Solo Eb Clarinet of the Chicago Symphony. Next year, he plans to pursue his MM at the University of Texas with Jonathan Gunn.

This will be Ryan’s second summer at Round Top. He has been an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for three seasons, and performs with them frequently.

Ryan has attended numerous summer festivals, including Round Top, the Miami Music Festival, Interlochen, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. He has performed under many prominent conductors—including Marin Alsop, Leonard Slatkin, JoAnn Falletta, Rafael Payare, Carlos Kalmar, and Teddy Abrams, among others—as well as with international soloists, such as Joshua Bell, Emanuel Ax, Alessio Bax, and Francois Dumont. Ryan has also appeared in masterclasses with world-renowned musicians, including Midori, Frank Cohen, Michele Zukovsky, Burt Hara, Daniel Gilbert, Alex Fiterstein, Keith Buncke, John Yeh, and more.

While at CCPA, Ryan received the Undergraduate Scholar Award from the Presser Foundation. He was also a two-time recipient of Interlochen’s full-tuition Emerson Scholarship and first prize at the Tuesday Musicale of Detroit’s Student League Competition.
