YiQiao Li is from Harbin, China. She began her piano studies at age four. In 2003, she began her professional music training at the Affiliated Middle School attached to the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She then continues her journey as a piano performance major student in the States, her principal teachers include Robert Shannon, Gabriel Chodos and Vladimir Valjerevic. She also participated in masterclasses presented by Gilbert Kalish, Pavlina Dokovska, HaeSun Paik, Sedmara Rutstein, and Robert Plano. She received her Bachelor degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Master degree and Graduate Diploma from New England Conservatory of Music. She is currently pursuing Doctoral degree at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University
During 2000-2003, Li has received top prizes in many national competitions in China. In 2007, she had been selected to participate the Beijing International Piano Festival. Li was also a winner of the 2013-2014 Oberlin Senior Concerto Competition, the WCLV Classical Music Channel in Cleveland broadcasted the performance. Li was also chosen to perform in the Chamber Music Gala in 2016 and the NEC Piano Department series concerts from 2014-2017. In 2017, Li was one of the selected winners of the NEC Piano Department Honor's Competition and performed at the Jordan Hall. In 2018, she appears in the Weill Hall of the Carnegie Hall, as an accompanist to the National Young Musicians Showcase.
