Max is in his senior year at the Eastman School of Music, studying with Richard Killmer. He is pursuing a BM in Oboe Performance, and a BA in Psychology at the University of Rochester College of Arts and Sciences.

In 2015, he won the Eastman Oboe Concerto Competition playing the Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto. He had the privilege of playing the Concerto with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra the following month. In 2017 he received the prestigious Performers Certificate from the Eastman woodwind faculty. He performs regularly with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Philharmonia, and was a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

In 2017 Max was a finalist for the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Second Oboe/ Associate Principal oboe position. In the summer of 2015 he attended the Eastern Music Festival.

Max was also a member of University of Rochester’s varsity Swimming and Diving team. In his free time he enjoys
acrobatic sports, surfing, and spending time at the beach.
