I began playing viola in sixth grade. After making the region orchestra in seventh grade, I realized that this was my passion and something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I proceeded to become the Principal Violist of the region orchestra, a rank I kept for five consecutive years until my graduation from high school. During that time, I also developed an interest in the TMEA All-State Orchestra. In my final three years of high school I had the opportunity to perform at State as eighth chair of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal Violist of the String Orchestra, and fourth chair of the Symphony Orchestra. In addition to participating in the All-State process, I also joined the Houston Youth Symphony my senior year. I sat as Principal and Assistant Principal during the 2016-17 concert cycle. In high school I studied with Viola Professor Lawrence Wheeler of the University of Houston. Now I am a college freshman studying with Dr. Susan Dubois at the University of North Texas. Here, I am a member of the inaugural Undergraduate String Quartet and sit as Assistant Principal Violist of the Concert Orchestra.
