Harpist Juan Riveros is currently a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under the tutelage of Yolanda Kondonassis. He is regarded as an “expressive and controlled” player in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. His past accolades include Interlochen’s Young Artist Award, the Texas Young Master Award, and a YoungArts Merit Award in Classical Music/Harp.
Juan is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Joan Raeburn Holland for two years. His orchestral experience includes participation with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Philharmonic, the Interlochen Arts Academy Ensembles, and the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. His solo performance experiences range from outreach programs in local Garland and Dallas ISD schools and performances at assisted living facilities to solo recitals in venues such as the Moody Performance Hall and Interlochen’s Dendrinos Chapel. Juan is passionate about teaching the harp, and aspires to teach and perform in solo, chamber, and orchestral contexts. His past instructors include Alison Read, Delaine Fedson Leonard, Sylvia Norris, and Joan Holland.
