Sage Wright holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Industry with a minor in Nonprofit Studies from James Madison University and has had a busy career as a musician since a young age. Some of her recent solo performances include Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy with the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Schindler’s List solo with the Roanoke Valley Community Band. In 2017, she won the JMU School of Music Concerto/Aria competition with the Sibelius Violin Concerto and had the opportunity to perform the piece with the JMU Symphony. Sage has also received many academic honors from the School of Music including the 2017 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award and the 2018 Outstanding Graduate Award. While studying at JMU, she has developed a passion for arts outreach and has worked in the Harrisonburg community to promote equal access to the arts. In the fall she will be continuing her musical studies at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music for a master’s degree in violin performance.
