Filipino bassoonist, Vince Ocampo is currently pursuing his Doctoral of Music and Arts degree under Richard Meek at Texas Tech University. Before attending TTU, Mr. Ocampo received his Masters of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma at the Longy School of Music of Bard College under the tutelage of Matthew Ruggiero, Suzanne Nelsen and Adrian Morejon and Bachelor of Music in University of Santo Tomas, studied under Adolfo Mendoza.

He won the concerto competition at Longy and TTU and performed as a soloist, the Rossini Concerto for Bassoon and Crusell Concertino for Bassoon. He is a prize winner at the National Music Competition for Young Artist (Philippines) and a finalist at the first Asian Double Reed Association, bassoon competition.

Notable awards include, Boston Woodwind Society Merit Award (Bassoon Grant) and AT&T Chancellor’s Fellowship. He participated in Aspen Music Festival and School and Asian Youth Orchestra both for two summers. His past orchestra positions are; Manila Symphony Orchestra (2nd Bassoon), FILharmoniKA (2nd Bassoon), Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (Guest Principal Bassoon). He is currently serving as the Principal Bassoonist of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra.
