His most recent honors include winning the concerto competition at University of the Pacific, where he also received the degree Bachelor of Music in music performance in 2016, and attending the Institute for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale. Previously, he studied at the Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar, Eastern Music Festival Institute, and Summer Brass Institute as a Fellow. His primary university teachers have been Leonard Ott (Oakland Symphony) and Tom Booth (Dallas Symphony). When Kipp isn’t trying to figure which way to move his tuning slide in the back of the orchestra, he enjoys teaching music, learning about entrepreneurship, and checking out local breweries.
