Carly Gomez, originally from Satellite Beach, Florida, is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Oberlin Conservatory as a bassoon student of George Sakakeeny. She received her master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of John Clouser and also studied with Jeffrey Keesecker at the Florida State University. Ms. Gomez joined the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra in 2015-2016 as Acting Principal Bassoon and previously held the position of Principal Bassoon with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. Carly also frequently performs with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. A semifinalist of the Meg Quigley International Vivaldi Competition, she has also participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, Sarasota Music Festival, and National Orchestral Institute.
