Alana Olswing is a 21- year old violinist at Northwestern University studying with Robert Hanford. She began studying the violin at the age of two, and her main teachers have been Joy Brown Wiener of the Memphis Symphony and Michael Gilbert of the New York Philharmonic.

Alana is a section violinist in the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra and Baroque Music Ensemble, as well as the assistant concertmaster of the Memphis Repertory Orchestra. She has also performed with the Eroica Ensemble and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

In 2013 Alana won the Germantown Symphony Concerto Competition and the Memphis Youth Symphony Concerto Competition. She was also invited to solo with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
Alana has participated in master classes conducted my Gil Shaham, Michael Stern, the Dover Quartet, Time For Three, and Paul Roby.
