A native of McAllen, Texas, violinist Gerardo Adrian Garcia, 19, began playing at the age of 11 under the public school system. By the age of 14, under the direction of Geoffrey Wong, he was admitted to and attended Meadowmount School of Music where he would study with Dr. Ann Setzer. Gerardo continued to be a competitor and musician in the TMEA Region XV Orchestra from 2012-2016 where he would serve as concert master in 2012 and 2015. Gerardo attended the TMEA All State conference as a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra in 2015 and was twice awarded the TMEA Outstanding Soloist medal. He has also attended Brevard Music Center and Endless Mountain Music Festival. Currently a college freshman majoring in violin performance under Dr. Diana Seitz, Gerardo attends the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where he serves as concert master and featured soloist.
