Stephen Cook is a graduate assistant in trumpet performance at the University of Memphis Rudi Scheidt School of Music and is a student of Dr. David Spencer. Stephen has been involved with a variety of ensembles ranging from orchestral, commercial music, jazz, contemporary gospel, and brass quintet. He is a current member of the University of Memphis Graduate Brass Quintet and co-principal of the UofM Symphony Orchestra, UofM Wind Ensemble, and has served as lead trumpet for the UofM premier jazz ensemble, the Southern Comfort Jazz Band.

Before coming to Memphis, Mr. Cook recieved his Bachelors of Science in Music Education from the University of North Alabama. While at UNA he was an integral part of the renowned Pride of Dixie Marching Band where he served as section leader for three consecutive seasons as well as principle trumpet of the UNA Wind Ensemble, lead trumpet of the UNA Studio Jazz Band, and principle trumpet of the Shoals Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Viljar Pu Weiman and Dr. Daniel Stevens. His studio professor at UNA was Director Emeritus Dr. Edd Jones.

While a student at UNA Stephen marched two seasons with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2010 and 2012).
