Flutist Sarah Shin is a vibrant performer, teacher, and collaborator. She has performed in Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, John F. Kennedy Center, Gewandhaus Theatre in Leipzig, Germany, and will be performing in Seoul, South Korea in May 2017. She has performed in festivals such as Brevard Music Center (NC), Colorado College Music Festival (CO), Opera in Ozarks as principal flute (AR). Sarah is a recipient of multiple awards such as winner of Rutgers Honors Chamber Music Competition, First Place Prize of the Upper Midwest Flute Association Young Artist, and quarterfinalist for Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. Currently, Sarah is a Doctoral Candidate at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts, as a graduate teaching assistant with merit scholarship, under the tutelage of Bart Feller. Sarah received her BFA at Carnegie Mellon University and received her MM from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, as a Jacobs Scholar Fellow. Her other primary instructors include Jeanne Baxtresser and Thomas Robertello, with additional study with Marianne Gedigian and Alberto Almarza.
