Lea Fetterman is currently a music education major, violinist, and soprano in her final year at Western Washington University (WWU). She grew up on Bainbridge Island, WA, and began playing the violin when she was eight years old. While on Bainbridge, she was part of the Bainbridge Youth Orchestra and sat concertmaster for three years. She also played with the Bainbridge Symphony, Seattle Youth Orchestras, and in the Ovation! Musical Theater pit orchestra as concertmaster. When she first got to WWU, she studied with Grant Donnellan for one year, and currently studies with Walter Schwede and has for almost three years. She periodically takes lessons from Ron Patterson in Seattle as well. Since being at WWU, she has been part of the Composers of Western Scholarship Quartet for one year, has been awarded the Settlemyer College of Fine and Performing Arts scholarship three years in a row, and sits concertmaster of the Western Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Ryan Dudenbostel. She attended Marrowstone Summer Music Festival every summer from 2011 to 2014, and attended Round Top Festival Institute in 2016.
