Sean Elliott is a Junior Bachelor of Arts student at West Virginia University where he studies with Dr. Mikylah Myers McTeer. Born and raised in Morgantown, WV, he originally began private lessons with Mary Wilson at the age of five. He has also studied with Zachary Snider (WVU graduate student), Ellen-Maria Willis (Cutis Institute), and Margie Cooper (WV Symphony Orchestra). Sean was featured as a soloist performing Zigeunerweisen (Sarasate) with the Morgantown High/ University High School Orchestra in 2014. Since then, he has won the WVU School of Music Young Artist's Competition in 2016, the 2015 and 2016 MTNA Young Artist Competitions (State Level), and was named the Alternate for Nationals at the MTNA Young Artist Competition on January 8th, 2017 at Boston University, MA with the Concerto for Violin in D Minor (Jean Sibelius) and the contemporary work Gyftiko (John Psathas). Sean is also the recipient of several academic awards, including the The Valerie Canady Charitable Trust Foundation Scholarship.
