Theatre Forum Hosts Opera Premiere at Festival Hill in NovemberTheatre Forum Hosts Opera Premiere at Festival Hill in November

Join Shakespeare fans and thespians at Round Top Festival Institute from November 4-6 for the 19th Annual Theatre Forum, Golden Ages: The Theatre of England and Spain in the Age of Shakespeare and Cervantes. The three-day forum includes talks, performances, recitals, opera and more.

A highlight of the weekend is the Saturday world premiere of the one-act comic opera, Two Cells in Sevilla. Written by father and son team Marec Bela Steffens and Walter Steffens and co-produced by The Greenbriar Consortium in Houston, Texas, the opera's characters include Cervantes, his great colleague Tirso de Molina (creator of the Don Juan legend), and features a letter from their English contemporary William Shakespeare.

Overnight accommodations and fine dining are available.

A Christmas Celebration in Song at Festival Hill! PraiSingers, the popular choir from Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, directed by Dr. Bill Pearson, will present a Christmas holiday concert featuring over a dozen sacred and secular favorites. The 3:00 PM program on Saturday, December 3 includes several medleys, White Christmas, Silver Bells and Silent Night among others, and features several vocal soloists. Adult $25, Student $10.

The annual Open House at Festival Hill follows the concert. Join us in the Victorian-style Menke House for sweets and treats, visit with friends and revel in the spirit of season!

2016-2017 August-to-April Concert Series2016-2017 August-to-April Concert Series

The 2016-2017 August-to-April Concert Series offers a variety of nine concerts and ballet, and opens on August 20 with the Split Second Piano Duo. Tickets are available online. Adult $25-$40. Student $10-$20.

Lunch will be available prior to a few concerts and will be listed in the shopping cart if available. All meals are "reservation only." Overnight accommodations are available on concert weekends. Call the office at 979-249-3129 to reserve a room.
