Aubrey Murphy
Born in Dublin, Aubrey Murphy is a multi faceted musician. Early on in his career he taught at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he was awarded an Artist Diploma and Performers Certificate. Mr Murphy was guest Concertmaster of The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and soon after joined the Orchestra of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Principal Violin and regular Guest Concertmaster. In 2001 he was appointed Concertmaster for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, a position he held for 12 years. In that time he founded The Soloists of the Royal Opera House and The Utzon Ensemble in Sydney. Both groups were dedicated to varietal Chamber music and played to critical acclaim around Europe and the Antipodes.

Mr Murphy has regularly worked under conductors such as George Solti, Bernard Haitink, Simon Rattle, Antonio Pappano, Christian Badea, Valery Gergiev, Christian Thielemann, and Christoph von Dohnanyi.

Mr Murphy resides in Shaker Heights with his wife, the violinist Joan Kwuon and their dog Finn.
