Pittsburgh Symphony, Principal Trumpet
A native of Norcross, Georgia, Micah Wilkinson has enjoyed a varied career as an orchestral musician, soloist, chamber artist, and teacher. He has been recently appointed as the Principal Trumpet of the Pittsburgh Symphony. He previously held positions with the Houston Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the Tucson Symphony and the San Diego Symphony. Micah is a proud graduate of St. Olaf College and pursued additional studies at Arizona State University and the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany. His primary teachers include Martin Hodel, David Hickman, Larry Black and Anthony Plog. He lives in San Diego along with his wife Stefani, their beautiful daughters Eleanor and Amelia, and their goofy Basset Hound Barber.
Micah is an alumnus of Round Top Festival Institute (2003, 2004, 2006).
