The Log House on the grounds of Festival Hill was inspired by ‘Al Araf’, the home built by George J. Jenks for his family on the shore of Lake Huron at Harbor Beach, Michigan between 1896 and 1923. The house is furnished with original materials from ‘Al Araf’, including a notable collection of Stickley furniture crafted between 1902 and 1920. The Log House provides faculty residences, guest housing, music rehearsal rooms and a permanent repository for historic Jenks and Ilsley family collections.
