Texas Guitar Quartet
Texas Guitar Quartet presents Chamber Music of the highest quality!

The Texas Guitar Quartet returns to the Festival Concert Hall stage to present another astounding performance. Bringing together the extraordinary talents of Isaac Bustos, Jay Kacherski, Alejandro Montiel and Joseph Palmer, the group continues to push the boundaries of the guitar quartet medium by premiering new works by contemporary composers and creating daring arrangements of orchestral works by Mozart, Beethoven and Ravel.

Formed in 2009, the Texas Guitar Quartet has been hailed as "Impeccable in every respect" by Classical Guitar Magazine. Audiences have embraced the quartet for their daring programs, dazzling virtuosity and joyful music making throughout the United States, Central America, Spain and China. The ensemble has been featured in concertos with the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, Sam Houston State University Symphony Orchestra and the Abilene Philharmonic among others.

In addition to their excellence in performance, the musicians are also educators, holding degrees from several major schools including the University of Texas at Austin (Bustos, Montiel and Palmer). Dr. Isaac Bustos is on faculty at Texas A&M University Department of Performance Studies where he is Director of Guitar Studies. Dr. Alejandro Montiel directs the guitar programs at Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College in Texas.

Dr. Jay Kacherski is on the guitar faculty at several Louisiana schools including Loyola University, the University of New Orleans and McNeese State University. Dr. Jay Palmer has devoted himself to sharing classical music with diverse populations, giving over 50 interactive concerts each year in public schools and under-served communities.
