A Cappella Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit chorus from the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio, located in San Marcos, Texas. This women's chorus was established in 2012 as a chapter of Sweet Adeline's International, an organization with over 28,000 members worldwide. With a focus on education and improving musical skills through performance, AU participates annually in regional competition where they are judged on their musical ability, singing, expression, interpretation, choreography and showmanship.
As part of Great Gulf Coast Region 10, over the last four years A Cappella Unlimited has earned four first division ratings in the Division A chorus contest, Most Improved chorus, and fifth place overall. The chorus regularly performs during the holiday season, 9/11 and Veterans Day programs, community outreach at local retirement homes, the State Capitol in Austin, and delivers singing telegrams as Love Notes for Valentine's Day. With an age range of 18 to 84 years old, AU members come from all over Central Texas, represent all walks of life, and all levels of musical ability. This gives the chorus a vibrant and passionate mix of personalities, experiences, and talent that together in music create incredible harmonies and long-lasting memories. Rehearsals on Monday nights are open to women 14 and older and are held in San Marcos at Texas State University.
A Cappella Unlimited is co-directed by Katy Dane (tenor of Head Over Heels Quartet and 7-12th grade Music Educator) and Grant Goulding (Barbershop Harmony Society Music Judge Candidate and Director of Heart of Texas Chorus).
